Moss on a roof is not only a look. It holds water against the tiles, blocks gutters as it sheds, and in a hard frost it can lift and crack tiles from underneath. We clear it without ever putting a pressure washer near your roof.
How we do it
This is the one we will not budge on. Pressure washing a roof strips the protective granular surface off concrete tiles, forces water under the laps and takes years off the roof. Anyone offering to jet wash your roof is selling you damage. We scrape and soft wash instead.
After the bulk moss comes off, the roof gets a biocide treatment that kills the spores. The roof keeps improving for weeks afterwards as the weather takes the residue off. That is normal and it is how the treatment is meant to work.
A roof clean always drops debris. We clear the gutters afterwards as part of the job, because leaving a roof clean without doing that just moves the problem.

Inspect the roof and the access, and flag any tiles already cracked or slipped before we touch anything.

Wash down the walls, drive and patio below so no residue is left behind.

The bulk moss goes on the day. The staining keeps fading for several weeks afterwards as the biocide works and the weather rinses it. A roof often looks better a month later than it did the afternoon we left.
Not the way we do it. The risk with roofs is pressure, and we do not use any. We will point out any tiles that are already cracked or slipped before we start so there is no question about it later.
